We are a church, and, by definition, a church is the coming together of people for the common purpose of Jesus; so, without you there is no church. You are essential to the existence of FCC. Your time, your talents, your attendance, your offerings - these ensure the longevity of FCC in this community.
Allow me to be honest with you for a minute. The past couple months around FCC have been lean. Attendance has been about 30% lower this fall than it had been this past spring. Similarly offerings have not been to the level of our budgeted needs. Don't get me wrong, we're not at a complete crisis; our attendance is still 20% higher than one year ago, and our savings haven't run out, but we want to be honest with you about our current position.
At the last Elder's meeting, we were discussing these facts, talking, and praying over what we could do to grow out of this situation. The answer we found may be a little surprising.
We can't do anything. You can.
We need you to recommit yourself to the vision and values of FCC. We still believe that we can make the community better, but we can only do that if you are completely sold out on that purpose. We need you to be here, to volunteer here, to give here, and to go out and share Jesus' life-changing message with others. We need you to invite your friends, your neighbors, and your families to join us on mission God has for us.
We need you more than ever!
